Impact Events are designed to give individuals and families an opportunity to use their gifts and talents in service to others while sharing the Gospel of Jesus Christ. 

Serve KC

Each month we have opportunities to serve Kansas City through partnering with local mission partners in our community. As a church we want to be the hands and feet of Jesus through serving the homeless, orphans, prisoners, refugees, and least of these in KC.

Send Relief

Send Relief is a partnership with Southern Baptist Disaster Relief efforts. Our disaster relief teams respond when crisis hits, quickly providing assistance ranging from serving hot meals to helping families clean up after a storm. We want to bring relief to hurting communities by providing the help, hope and healing of Jesus.

Missions Opportunities 

Guatemala

 Apr. 10 – 17

 Estimated cost is $1250

This will be our first LBC team to go to Guatemala, it is open to all adults and to students age 14-17 with a parent or signed guardian. The team will be facilitating soccer tournaments for all ages while sharing the Gospel with all that participate. The tournament will follow the template that Project Hope has used in Nicaragua for the past several years that has resulted in hundreds of people praying to accept Christ. Project Hope will be assisting with this project as well. If you are a soccer player, coach, fan or just someone who desires to impact lives, this would be a great trip for you.

Nicaragua

This trip is for women, as well as for teen girls participating with their moms. Our team will serve women and children in Managua, Nicaragua as we partner with Project Hope. Our ministry opportunities will include leading children’s programming at Taellor’s House and Center of Hope, serving women at Unshackled, and providing a one-day retreat for Nicaraguan pastor’s wives.

Middle East

This team will work with our ministry partners in the Middle East to train and encourage husbands and wives as far as what it takes to build a healthy marriage on the foundation of Christ. The trip is open to all adults and the team size will be limited to around 6-8 participants.

South Sudan & Uganda

This team will be working with mission partner Empower 1 to do ministry, discipleship and evangelism in Africa. This trip is open to all adults. Empower 1 has a strong team working in Africa and you will have many ministry opportunities as we work with them to encourage Pastor’s and share the Good News of Christ.

Costa Rica

This trip is open to all adults and students ages 14-17 with a parent or signed guardian.  The team will work with local missionaries from our mission partner Score International to serve the local church and participate in the various ministry sites and opportunities that Score conducts in Costa Rica. 

Montreal

 Estimated cost is $1000

This team will work to support Renaissance Church, an IMB church plant located in the heart of Montreal. The trip is open to all adults, there is a large amount of walking as well as the use of mass transportation. Ministry opportunities include things like a basketball tournament, an evening event for the community, serving in a soup kitchen as well as relational evangelism.

Mexico

 Estimated cost is $750

This trip is open to all adults and students 14-17 with parent or signed guardian. The team will have various ministry opportunities as they conduct an Impact Event providing needed services and opportunities while sharing the love of Christ with the people of Ensenada. The team will partner with LBC member and Mexico Missionary Glenn Luke. 

Peru

This trip is open to all adults and students 14-17 with parent or signed guardian. The team will serve alongside our missionary partner Compassion International in and around the LBC church plant in Piura. Participants will be able to connect with their sponsored Compassion child in the area around the church plant and will serve to encourage the church/school staff, children and families.

Southeast Asia

 Estimated cost is $1,900

This trip is open to and the team size is limited to a maximum of 8 participants. This team will serve alongside our mission partner Mountain Calling to train Pastors and church leaders as well as do relational evangelism. Good health is a requirement as the trip involves a lot of hiking sometimes in rough terrain and at elevation.

Nicaragua

 Estimated cost is $1250

These trips are open to all adults and to students age 14-17 years with a parent/signed guardian. All trips will involve constructing homes, doing daily evangelism and discipleship and serving at the various ministry sites of our mission partner, Project Hope. Constructions skills are not required and there is something for everyone as far as service opportunities in Nicaragua.
