LBC Counseling Ministry

Loving

Our counseling ministry begins with love that is expressed through the creation of a safe, respectful environment, where every individual is treated with dignity as an image-bearer of God (1 Cor 16:14). We seek to meet people exactly where they are, recognizing that this posture reflects the heart of Jesus Himself. Throughout His ministry, Jesus consistently drew near to those experiencing pain, confusion, and brokenness. He listened before He instructed, remained present before He corrected, and offered relationship before resolution.

In seeking to follow Christ’s example of love, we are committed to listening carefully and caring deeply. We recognize that many who come to counseling carry wounds, discouragement, and heavy burdens, and we count it a privilege to walk alongside through life’s challenging moments (Galatians 6:2). Love shapes not only our tone (Eph 4:15), but also our posture and process, guiding how we engage each person with compassion, patience, and humility (John 13:35).

Biblical

Our counseling ministry rests confidently on the unchanging truth of God’s Word. We believe God’s Word is sufficient to instruct, correct, restore, and lead people toward healing, wholeness and Christlikeness (Colossians 1:28). Being grounded in this conviction, we walk alongside others with love and grace, affirming that genuine love finds its fullest expression when it’s anchored in the truth of Scripture.

For this reason, the Bible serves as the ultimate authority and guide for our counseling ministry. God’s Word equips God’s people for every good work and guiding both counselor and counselee toward real and lasting life transformation (2 Timothy 3:16–17). Our goal is not merely to address outward behaviors, but to speak directly to the heart, relying on God’s living and active Word, which discerns thoughts and intentions and brings clarity where there is confusion (Hebrews 4:12).

In all we do, we depend on the power of God’s Word, the guidance of His Holy Spirit, and the support of His people through the local church to work together so that lives are healed, hearts are restored, and faith is strengthened.

Christ-Centered

Our counseling ministry is rooted in the person and work of Jesus Christ as the definitive source of hope, power, and enduring transformation. True sanctification is not achieved through mere behavior modification or self-improvement efforts, but from a personal, growing, and dynamic relationship with Jesus Christ. By grounding our counseling in the Biblical teachings, promises, and presence of Christ, we help counselees experience the transformative power of the gospel as it works in their lives to bring true healing and restoration to Him.

In counseling, we guide individuals to discover that their true identity, hope, and purpose are found in Christ alone, even in the midst of suffering or struggle (Colossians 1:27). Our desire is to lead people into deeper trust, faith, and obedience, helping them reflect Christ’s love, grace, and truth in every area of life. By keeping Jesus at the center, our ministry points beyond temporary relief to lasting transformation, anchored in the hope and power of the risen Savior.
