Buddy Bags

LBC provides take-home groceries each week for over 40 families who qualify for assistance in the Shawnee Mission and KCK school districts. Therefore, regular donations are needed to help stock these “Buddy Bags” to serve these families.

 No Sam’s or Costco sized items unless food is individually packaged

 All items can be left in the food pantry drop off closet in the K-Hall lobby

 High Need Items

• Boxes of cereal (approx. 15oz size)  
• Pasta Sauce (24oz size in canned or plastic containers)  
• Peanut Butter (15-16oz)
• Jelly (20oz squeezable or smaller sized plastic containers)  
• Rice packs (Knorr, Lipton etc.)  
• Hamburger Helper (6oz)  
• Chef Boyardee 
• Canned Fruit  
• Canned meat (tuna, chicken, etc.)  
• Macaroni and cheese
• Boxes of crackers (Club, Triscuit, etc.)  
• Pasta
• Hearty soup (16oz…Progresso, etc.)  
• Fruit cups
• Fruit Snacks
• Individually packaged snacks (cookies, Rice Krispies, pudding/jello, etc)

Benevolence Bags

Our food pantry also distributes bags of food for individuals and families who are needing some additional food assistance. We also send some of the items to our elementary school partner in Kansas City, KS. For these outreaches, we take all of the above items AND:

• Boxes of rice
• Instant Potatoes
• Cake and Brownie mixes
• Frosting
• Family-sized boxes of cereal
• Canned beans (pinto, black, kidney etc.)
• Canned vegetables
• Pancake Mix
• Syrup
• Peanut Butter and canned meat (Sam’s or Costco-sized)
• Fruit Cups
• Jelly
• Hearty Soup
• Pasta Sauce (Sam’s or Costco-sized)
• Spaghetti
• Family-size boxes of Hamburger Helper/macaroni and cheese/skillet meals
• Saltine crackers
• Canned chili
• Ramen (chicken)
