Join us Wednesday evenings for Worship Orchestra or Worship Choir rehearsals.
Check the main Worship Ministry page for information regarding times and locations.
We would love to have you join us!
Each and every time we gather as a congregation, we do so for the purpose of exalting Jesus Christ. Our worship services are about glorifying God as we worship Him in Spirit and in truth (John 4:24).
We have several opportunities for you to be involved and would love to have you join as we lead others in worshiping our Savior. Our desire is not to recruit singers and players but to help those who wish to plant their lives at LBC serve.
Our choir and orchestra are taking a break during this season, but our goal is to resume onsite choir and orchestra
in the future.
A strong choir is a hallmark of Lenexa Baptist Church. The worship Choir leads in corporate Worship each week and participates in special events such as Christmas and Easter presentations. All are welcome!
Our choir is taking a break during this current season. Our goal is to resume rehearsals onsite as soon as possible.
The Worship Orchestra is a powerful ensemble that plays in corporate worship each week. The orchestra also plays for special events at the church as well as the occasional community event. If you have an interest in playing, please contact the Worship Pastor.
Our orchestra is taking a break during this current season. Our goal is to resume rehearsals onsite as soon as possible.
We have Worship Ministry opportunities available at the Lenexa Campus as well as our other campus locations. Vocalists, instrumentalists and tech personnel are needed to serve!
Choose one of the following platforms to listen and worship throughout the week.
Brian Richardson has been the Youth Pastor at Lenexa Baptist Church since 2003. Prior to coming to Lenexa Baptist he served in three other churches as Youth Minister. Brian has two bachelor degrees from Southwest Missouri State; one in Music and one in Religious Studies. He also has a Master of Divinity from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary. God blessed him when he met his wife, Sharla, at his first church. They have three boys, Jordan, Jarrett, and Jace.
Brian grew up in a Christian home with parents that loved the Lord and the church. While attending a summer youth camp, he accepted Jesus as his personal Lord and Savior. Since that time, Jesus has been not only his Lord, but also his best friend. Walking with Him daily is the most fulfilling thing in his life.
Brian believes all Christians are called to be full-time ministers. While attending Super Summer in Missouri, God called him into full-time vocational ministry. God confirmed that He was calling Brian into youth ministry while he was attending Southwest Missouri State.
Brian serves as the Worship Pastor in our Venue Service that meets at 11:00 am every Sunday morning in the Koinonia Hall. Involving many youth and adults in leading worship he creates a youthful and worshipful environment for our more casual service.
His favorite verses are Proverbs 3:5–6:
“Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct your paths.”
Brian believes the answer to life is simply to trust God in all things.
Bill Shiflett joined the Lenexa Baptist Church staff in August of 2005. Prior to coming to Lenexa he served dynamic churches in Oklahoma and Florida and served as the Worship Specialist for the Missouri Baptist Convention from 2003 to 2005. He earned both a Bachelor and a Masters Degree in music from Oklahoma City University.
Bill has served as a guest lecturer, worship leader and clinician for SBC Seminaries and Retreat Centers such as Ridgecrest and Glorieta as well numerous Associational clinics. As an adjunct professor he also taught Worship Leadership at Midwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in Kansas City.
Bill and his wife Kerri, who also holds both a Bachelor and a Masters Degree in music from Oklahoma City University, love serving as a part of the team at Lenexa Baptist Church!
Bill became a Christian in May of 1991 while attending Northwest Baptist Church in Oklahoma City. Although he had grown up a strong Baptist, Bill realized that he did not have a personal relationship with God as he listened to guest speaker Larry Jones preach about “grieving the Holy Spirit of God.” From that point, Bill sensed God’s call to full time service to the Kingdom of God.
Bill is responsible for Worship Service planning and leadership as well as overseeing the music needs of the church. Bill’s heart is to train others not just to sing or play but to truly worship.
He claims the commandment in Matthew 22:37 as his life verse:
“Love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind. This is the greatest and most important commandment.”
